Final in Bethlehem!

After 13 hours of traveling I am finally here!!!

I arrived last night (it is now 9:00am on Thursday May 19).

I am staying with a Muslim woman in Bethlehem. She has a huge extended family! I had dinner with them all last night and the children are just adorable! I think if I eat any more I might explode!!! I was told "Kul, kul!" which means eat whenever I stopped eating for more than 45 seconds. Communicating is a little tricky sometimes but my host mother's brother speaks English so that has been helpful.

I also found out that I am volunteering at a children's center in Bethlehem Monday-Thursday from 9am-1pm.

I arrived before all the other PSE participants so today is a relaxing day. I am currently at the Holy Land Trust office in Bethlehem.  Hope all is well in the states! It is nice and warm here :)

  2. I'm glad you finally made it! How was going through customs? Did you go through Jerusalem to get to Bethlehem? If you get to the Church of the Holy Nativity light a candle for the Group of 4 plus 3 :)

  3. Customs was not too bad- I did have to talk to like 4 different people and I was alone so it was more stressful than if I had traveled with someone else but painless really. I was picked up at the airport and driven right to Bethlehem, which was so easy! Group of 4 plus 3 has a special candle at the Church of the Nativity :) P.S. Allie- you should not be jealous, IT IS SO HOT HERE!!!!
