Getting on a computer here is very difficult! The only two computer labs or internet cafes (which aren't even cafes... just computers) have strange, non consistent hours-oh and they seem to always be open and closed at the same time. In short- it's hit or miss.
I realized the other night that I have not described where I am living. I am living in Bethlehem near the Holy Land Trust office and the Central "Bus" Station (there are not buses- only services, which look like big taxis). This is all good and nice. BUT- I live at the bottom on a mountain. This is a non-issue in terms of walking from HLT or Bethlehem Bible College, where I have class. But walking every morning up this HUGE hill is such a work out. The first time I had to walk up, I thought it wouldn't be that big of a deal. I had walked down the night before. But OH MY GOD. I literally thought I was going to die. I made it, finally after 17 minuets, to HLT and people thought that I had gotten sunburn my face was so red. I think the walking thing has gotten a little better over the week- I have to leave my house really early to get anywhere though.
My host family is AMAZING. I love all my extended (host) family. Beside the whole verbal communication problem- which we've (almost) totally overcome- living with them is great. My host mom is hilarious!!! Not so much in English but when we hang out with her brothers, sisters, mother and nieces and nephews she is too funny! (Yeah she is speaking Arabic but I understand a lot and if I don't someone tries to explain to me- mainly my host Mom's brother who works at HLT and speaks very good English). Last night I had the greatest time having a dance party with some of the girls (nieces of my host mom)- SO. MUCH. FUN!!!! We just turned on the TV and danced for like an hour until their dad came home around 12:00am.
